The Power to Change:
Facing Up to the Elephant

The whole purpose of our executive coaching program, is to face up to the great elephant in the living room:

Despite all the talk of change to transform organizations, to become more competitive and move from 'good to Great' - the typical methods of that most companies engage in, these fail to deliver real change, for they fail to empower one to actually alter responses, actions and behaviors.

There are many reasons for this, but perhaps none is more telling than the vast over-simplification of the difficulties inherent and the resources required, to make authentic changes. When research shows that even when people that suffered their first heart attack, nine out of ten fail to keep up with a healthy lifestyle for more than a few months, this begs the question:

What is then the probability of having entrenched habits, attitudes and mores change, as the result of simply 'reengineering', 'right sizing',
'restructuring' and so forth? Or worse, because 'they' say so'?

Ultimately, what really makes or breaks any organization, is their ability to tap into the authentic power of its people to change and to keep it there for the long term.

This is where we come in.

While cosmetic alterations and quick fixes abound, our approach in executive-coaching programs is to address the problem of human change, from the inside out - at the root of the problem. We help leaders to tap into their authentic power to personally change - i.e. re-energizing the ability to make free choices, despite conditioning.

This leadership connection we help facilitate through the activation of four fundamental faculties:

  • The Faculty of Self-Awareness: becoming more aware of one's strengths and the opportune areas for improvement, as well as the challenges that can trigger regressive episodes - through 360 degree feedback, and equally important, one's own capability for self-observation.

  • The Faculty of Rational Conscience: becoming more sensitive to the system of values and mores in play - internally (within the leader and the larger social organization) and externally (in the relationship with the customer and the conceptual marketplace) - that brings about integrity, right action, and ultimately, lasting trust.

  • The Faculty of Imagination: becoming purposefully creative by opening up to the space for emergence - where values and perceptions are integrated into a leader's visionary world view, and new empowering meanings are made, in real time

  • The Faculty of Free Will: becoming associated in the inner freedom to make choices by design, rather than default, by infusing a conscience driven vision of one's leadership actions into the world.

This unique philosophical and psychological approach, offers a pathway for cultivating the disciplines of learning organizations, at a whole new level. It connects today's knowledge worker with their own highest inner resources, as to facilitate authentic personal growth.

As such, we work on the change process as a whole - both on the content of outer change (as the development of leadership habits), as well as the inner context (the development of one's personal power to change)

The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.
